How To Easily Get Spyware Software Off Of Your Computer

One of the ways to keep hackers from being able to exploit your web visits and other internet activity is to constantly empty your cache. Most average people I know have no knowledge about this simple step to get rid of spyware software. The exact method varies depending on your browser. If you use Internet Explorer from Microsoft, you simply select the internet options button on the toolbar, click on delete files where you see the temporary internet files designation, and then click OK to exit. For Netscape, choose edit from the tool bar or menu, pick the preferences button, then category, double click the advanced button and choose cache, go to clear cache memory, then clear disk cache, and OK. If you are one who still uses AOL, open the browser and choose preferences, then tap the www icon, when the box pops up choose advanced, then settings, next choose the empty folder option and click OK. If you have a later version of AOL you will have a general internet options choice after the www icon, just go to temporary internet files and click the delete files button and this will empty the files in your cache.

The most reliable and effective way of removing spyware software is to employ anti-virus and anti-spyware software programs. Personally I like combination software that includes both of these in one program. There are some software programs that discover the problem files only after you run a scan of your system, if you have one like this be sure that you run it every time you browse the internet to make sure you haven’t picked up any unwanted hitchhikers. The bigger companies such as McAfee and Norton include this. When the spyware software is detected you will be given the option to quarantine or delete the files.

There are also programs that will keep the programs out in the spyware software out in the first place. I like using these programs because they will find and prevent the downloads before they have the chance to get on your hard drive. This is much more efficient and time saving because it runs constantly in the background to keep the problem software out. You should also run a complete scan every week as a redundant back up.

Some of the big companies remove the anti-spyware option in their software that they offer included with a new computer so don’t be misled into thinking you have a full version and are therefore protected. You probably aren’t. Make sure that you have a specific ant-spyware program installed and run it often to keep your computer free of the multitude of spyware software that is out there.
